Been thinking about the Cabinets of Curiosities we posted the other day? Well then you’re in luck because we have the “modern day” version to share with you today. Wunderkammer is the German word for Cabinet of Curiosities, literally meaning wonder-room, and it’s how oobject describes its site.
Oobject.com is a site that curates visual lists of unique man-made gadgets and objects and its our first example of well-done curation. How does it work? Community members tag potential gadgets to include in the lists on wists.com (wishlists across the entire Internet) and then oobject curates the best gadgets into lists.
You’re guaranteed to find a myriad of curious items ranging from WWI armor (pictured above) to programmable roller coasters. What I like about it most was the community aspect. Curation is always easier with the help of others and I like that they’re using the wists community to help them curate some beautiful lists.
