Sex. It’s the world’s most controversial topic. This blog is probably banned in some countries just by the mere mention of the word. As a society, we’re obsessed with it. We’re afraid of it. We dedicate temples and gods to it. We pay big bucks for it.
And, most importantly, sex sells. You see tits and ass plastered all over TV commercials and advertisements. You see romantic sex idealized in movies. (No, saying “I love You” will not get her off in one minute). But, ironically, you won’t ever see a nipple on TV or hear the word “poonani” because of censorship. (Personally, I prefer the more sophisticated word “Pootang”).
Why do we take sex so seriously in traditional media? It’s a natural act. And, in real life, it’s not so pretty. It can be awkward, dirty, boring, nerve-wracking or funny. I noticed a bunch of videos on Redux this week that makes fun of sex and its portrayal in mainstream media, and here are a few of my favorites:
Champion Sex
Curator: Becca
Channel: Comic Appeal
Hey, let’s face it, sex is tiring. It’s a damn workout, and you need to be in good shape to enjoy it for a long time. The new anti-smoking ad should be- “Don’t smoke, or else you won’t last.” How come TV couples seem to have endless stamina? Are they taking steroids? They never get tired! Ashy Larry from Chapelle show talks about the reality of sexual stamina in this hilarious stand-up bit.
Craigslist Dating
Curator: Dr. Timaree
Channel: Sex, Love, Intelligence
I hate to admit it, but I joined a dating website like the one parodied in this video for two days just as a funny experiment to see what kind of freaks look at my profile. (I swear!) Or perhaps I was brainwashed by all of those commercials on TV that try to convince me that I’ll meet my one true love by taking a two minute website quiz. Or maybe it was those movies that say you must have a partner or you’ll get eaten by cats in your old age. Sadly, I did not encounter any nasty freaks like the girl in this video.
Dudeplantations- “MANanswers” Parody
Curator: DirtyNerdy
Channel: Underground Comedy
So, I get it. Spike TV is a guy’s network. But some of their shows are just so ridiculous. This is a funny parody of MANanswers, a show that has a reoccurring topic about easy to understand sex tips for men. And, this is uncensored to meet all of your fetishized needs. What’s so funny about a guy that’s about to have sex with six women at the same time? Just watch.
